In our early days as a child, we are thrilled and moved by almost anything that catches our attention, especially those things we have to stretch to reach. We can walk around gazing upwards at the sky, wondering what it is that draws our attention there in the clouds and among the stars. It is easy for us to be moved by almost anything because of its newness, and yet, as we get older, much of the excitement wears off, and those aspects of life that were so in-spiring lose their appeal and interest for us. It is almost as though we convince ourselves that we have understood life, and that our earlier quest has been dismissed as unnecessary. The reality is that no one understands what life is. No one. And if we insist on keeping our attention towards what we think we know about ourselves and our lives, then our horizons become limited and our sense of wonder diminishes. We start relying on our mind and our thinking patterns that can only relate to past instances, borrowed knowledge, and presumed futures, and not the present that confronts us. How do we keep open to the amazing reality of life, and recognize it for the miracle it is? The answer is: in-spiration. Human Design is a gift for these times. It illustrates to you exactly what you have agreed to live out in this life and how to do so. It doesn’t necessarily show you where you are going or what is going to happen along the way, but it shows you how to engage with and accept whatever life puts before you…on your terms. Our tendency is to overthink our lives, because it’s what we’ve been taught so far, and this more than anything robs us of our innocence and appreciation.
In the Human Design Life Chart,
the Crown Center, at the top of the Chart, is our way to access in-spiration. This Center is unique in the Life Chart because it is shown as partly within the body and partly outside. It also only connects directly to one other Center, the Mind Center. When we allow in-spiration to enter the Crown Center and course down through our whole body, energizing us in our lives, it is healthy. When the inspiration triggers the mind, and we hold it there, and we turn thoughts around and around without letting the in-spiration spread throughout our life, then we start to suffer. We overthink. Whether you have the Crown Center defined and colored in in your Life Chart or not, you are living in a world where the stream of inspiration through this Universe is a constant. In-spiration can take you from misery to bliss, from poverty to riches, from competitiveness to creativity and from hopelessness to trust. So, the next time you see the Sun arise, hear a bird singing, watch a flower flowering, see your friend smile, hear a child laugh… Remember to be open to the in-spiration that moves you through all things.
