The Nine Human Design Centers are the hubs or portals through which we receive and transmit the energy that flows through our Life Charts. In the middle of the Life Chart is a diamond-shaped Human Design Self-Center. It has been called the G, Center (or the Ji Center) but, I prefer to call it the “Self-Center,” since, for all inert and living things, it has everything to do with identity, a sense of purpose, direction, connectedness and love throughout our lives.
In the early days of Human Design, no one knew why it was called the “G” Center, but then the realization came that rather than a letter “G,” the Center relates to the Spiral of Perfect Geometry, the “Golden Spiral” that links shapes, forms and placements of all forms of life in this known Universe. From the human perspective, it provides identity in the space-time continuum that is a part of life on earth.
Life is a Mystery
The truth is that no one knows what life is. What appears to be true is that we are having this experience and have called it “life.” To be within this experience, we humans have been given many things, including minds that are driven to rationalize, bodies that like to be in motion or still, and feelings that mostly defy comprehension. Within all of this comes questions for us that involve identity, as in: “Who am I?” “What am I doing here?” and “Is there any purpose involved?”
The most important thing to appreciate when considering any questions like these is that no one else is living your life, and certainly, you are not here to live someone else’s life for them. Comparisons are futile, following someone else blindly or joining in a mobocracy, be that a scientifically, religiously, or politically motivated one, is ludicrous.
Yes, there is strength in numbers, but being a part of a crowd rather than being a unique individual among friends who interact consciously is going to distract from living a distinctive lifetime.
Standing in your own right is the first thing to appreciate about being alive. The right to be here now.
The Human Design Self Center
The diamond-shaped Center known as the Human Design Self-Center has many attributes, including containing what has been called the “Magnetic Monopole,” a mysterious device unique to Earth, that joins the sperm and the mother’s egg at conception, and thereafter sets the trajectory, drawing the “soon-to-be” person into and through all life experiences. Also, on the physical level, the Self Center relates to our blood filter, the Liver, and what has been called the “Seat of the Soul.”
Defined, Undefined, and Open Self Centers
Everyone has a Self-Center in their Life Chart, the question arises, how does it operate and take us through life? And since the Self Center has 8 Gate(ways) in it, there are at least as many ways it takes us.
